This timeline outlines important events related to nanotechnology policy and regulation in Canada, Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States with an emphasis on developments since 2000. For the purposes of this timeline, Nanotechnology is a term used to describe the manipulation of matter on the molecular scale. For background purposes, the research team has also chosen to include broader developments in science policy as well as significant events outside of the focus regions where deemed appropriate.

This timeline outlines important events related to bioenergy policy and regulation in Canada with an emphasis on biofuels and developments since 2000. For the purposes of this timeline, Bioenergy refers to various forms of renewable energy produced from biomass, such as biofuels, biopower and bioheat. The research team has made an effort to highlight events relevant to the forestry sector. For background purposes, the research team has also chosen to include broader developments in energy policy as well as significant events outside of Canada where deemed appropriate.
